Improving the admin experience for learning resources

Learnster’s platform enables organizations to create and manage learning experiences. As a UX Designer, I focused on the admin side of the product, improving how administrators add, organize, manage, and work with learning resources.

The project focused on making resource management more intuitive, reducing friction in key workflows, and creating a scalable experience that could support growing content libraries.

My Role & Responsibilities
I worked across the end-to-end UX process, from understanding existing workflows and identifying usability opportunities to exploring, designing, and refining solutions.

  • UX research and product discovery

  • Admin workflow analysis

  • Information architecture

  • User flows and task-flow mapping

  • Wireframing and prototyping

  • Interaction and UI design

  • Edge-case and error-state design

  • Usability testing and iteration

  • Collaboration with product managers, developers, and stakeholders

  • Contributing to scalable design patterns and the design system

Why We Are Doing This?

Making resource management simpler for admins.

As learning content grows, managing different types of resources can become increasingly complex. Admins need to add, organize, update, and make content available to the right learners - all while keeping the experience clear and efficient.

The opportunity was to understand where the existing experience created friction and explore ways to make resource management more intuitive, scalable, and easier to navigate.

How Do We Solve it?

The admin application is used to manage courses, learning content, users, and team activities. The existing experience provided the necessary functionality, but important information and actions were not always easy to find or navigate.

Goal:
Improve the admin experience by creating clearer information hierarchy, simplifying key workflows, and making course management faster and easier.

How I Evaluated the Current Admin Application

I used a combination of UX evaluation, task analysis, and user feedback to identify usability issues and opportunities for improvement.

Evaluate → Identify → Prioritize → Redesign → Validate

I evaluated the existing admin experience through heuristic evaluation, task-flow analysis, user feedback, and competitive review. This helped uncover navigation issues, information hierarchy problems, and friction across key workflows. Based on these findings, I redesigned the dashboard, navigation, course creation flow, and course editor to make important information easier to find and key admin tasks faster and more intuitive.
