Prepaid2Cash – Gift Card to Cash Mobile App
Overview
Business Challenge
The client had an existing proof-of-concept app but needed to elevate both its visual appeal and user experience. The main challenge was to declutter the interface, simplify the process flow, and make the app feel more trustworthy and intuitive for everyday users.
The Approach
I began by downloading and testing the app using a demo account to understand the end-to-end user experience. Through usability analysis, I identified friction points, visual inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve user flow. My notes highlighted key areas where the design could benefit from more visual clarity, hierarchy, and better guidance.
The Solution
User Experience Enhancements
Focused on optimizing the core user flow for faster and clearer task completion. Improved onboarding screens to communicate the app’s value proposition upfront, simplified the transaction process by reducing cognitive load, and restructured navigation for better discoverability. Additionally, enhanced feedback messages and confirmation screens to reassure users during critical steps like transfers and withdrawals.
User Interface Enhancements
Refined the app’s visual language using the existing design system. Introduced modern illustrations and updated iconography to convey clarity and friendliness. Adjusted color tones for improved accessibility and visual balance while ensuring the overall design projected security and trust. Each screen was aligned with a consistent visual hierarchy to create a cohesive and polished feel across the app.
The Results
The updated app delivered a cleaner and more modern interface that improved usability, boosted user confidence, and enhanced overall satisfaction. The redesign positioned Prepaid2Cash as a reliable, secure, and user-friendly solution for converting prepaid card balances into cash.
